Power of Attorney

A power of attorney should give exactly the authority you intend - no more, no less. The wording matters.

  • Powers listed precisely You grant exactly what you intend, and nothing further.
  • Workable from abroad We explain the consulate route if you are outside the UAE.

A power of attorney lets someone act for you: managing a property, running a company matter, completing a transaction while you are abroad. Its usefulness depends entirely on the wording. Too narrow and the person cannot do what you needed; too broad and you have handed over more authority than you meant to.

We draft the document around the specific task, list the powers precisely, arrange notarisation and explain how to revoke it later. If you are outside the UAE we will explain what has to be done where you are before the document can be used here.

Documents Required

  • Passport and Emirates ID of the person granting it
  • Passport and Emirates ID of the person receiving it
  • Details of the powers being granted What exactly the person should be able to do.
  • Supporting ownership documents Title deed or trade licence, where the matter relates to property or a company.

Eligibility & Requirements

  • The grantor must attend notarisation In person, or through a consulate if abroad.
  • Valid identity documents Required for both parties.

Important Notes

A power of attorney can be revoked, but revocation is a formal step of its own - it does not lapse simply because you have changed your mind. Ask us when the time comes.
